A new decree within the scope of the Loi Alur has been passed and will become effective from 1 August 2015:
- With respect to rental properties in the designated “zones tendues” i.e. in certain metropolitan areas, the notice period for the tenant has been reduced from three to one month.
- The notice period for the landlord has not been changed. The landlord only has the right to give notice in the event of a sale, if he wishes to live in the property himself or in exceptional circumstances described by the law.
